Hack the Heat/Defcon Bike Ride Wrapup
Now that we’re finally back on East Coast time, it’s time to start planning for Hack the Horn. But first we wanted to drop a post thanking our sponsors, all our riders, and share some pics. Above is all of us right before taking off. But first, our sponsors:

A huge thanks to Bike Hugger and BioLogic: Byron from Bike Hugger sent a box of goodies including a ton of Buffs, a few tshirts, a BioLogic coffee mug, and some other gear. We gave most of it away the day after the ride from the Defcon Radio table. JP spent some time at the Defcon Radio table talking about our Biologic and Bike Hugger and they’ll have a stream up on 9/9/11. We hope to have Bike Hugger and Biologic with us in the future. Also a big shout out to @alien8 who brought us together and will have his own blog post up soon. Also – Bike Food kicked in a bunch of nutrition which I’ll post about later – not something you do for the first time on a ride in August in Vegas!
The Bike Shop
Holy Crap!!! I can’t say enough good things about the staff at McGhies! We def were a little high maintanence with 20 questions before the ride. But they worked with us, we were off by 6:30am, and they even opened up early at 9am for us when we arrived back so we didn’t have to stand around! A huge thanks to Randy and everyone at McGhies who help make our ride a success! Woot!
Everything Else
@alien8 also took a ton of pics and has a flickr stream.
Thanks for @myrcurial (and who was the other person?) who followed us in cars. We had basically 3 groups, the group that did the loop w/an extra 1000 feet of vertical, the main group, and those of us in the back. The cruise home was great — all downhill literally.
Please leave us comments on how your experience was, and if I forgot anything major.
I’ll leave you all with a few more pics!
Did the ride. Got the jersey and a few of the Buffs. EXCELLENT FRAGGIN’ RIDE!!!! I especially enjoyed the flight back to the shop with @alien8 although there were numerous opportunities to create new “art” at a few gated communities.
“Hey, why are all those bikes stuck in the auto gate?!”
Looking forward to next year’s ride.
Agreed, was a great ride, made my Blackhat to be honest!
see you all next year.
We’re glad you guys had fun! Can’t wait for next year! Tenatively July 26th!
